  1. TMN PCS

  2. TMN includes a logical structure that originates from data communication network to provide an organized architecture for achieving interconnection between various types of Operations systems or telecom equipment types.Management Information is exchanged between OSs and equipment using an –agreed upon architecture and standard interfaces.

  3. TMN PCS • Three Important aspects of TMN which have been applied to manage PCS networks are: • A Layered Architecture • A functional Architecture • A Physical Architecture

  4. TMN PCS • Three Important aspects of TMN which have been applied to manage PCS networks are: • A Layered Architecture

  5. TMN PCS • Three Important aspects of TMN which have been applied to manage PCS networks are: • A Functional Architecture “f” interface is between the radio port and the radio port intermediary. It may or may not be internal to a radio system. “q” interface is like the “O” it interfaces the Operation systems. “x” interface is provides capabilities to access the Operations System to display, edit, delete information

  7. TMN PCS • Three Important aspects of TMN which have been applied to manage PCS networks are: • A Physical Architecture • This defining management roles for OS’s communication networks, and NE.

  8. TMN PCS RS – MSC: <A interface> The interface btw the Radio system and the MSC – using SS7 BTS-BSC: <Abis> Internal interface is defined. MSC – PSTN:<Aj interface> This is defined as an analog DTMF or MF

  9. TMN PCS MSC- VLR: <B interface> The interface defined in TIA MSC-HLR: <C> Defined in TIA HLR-VLR:<D interface> Based on SS7 MSC – ISDN <Di> T1 interface MSC-MSC: <E> Traffic and signalling

  10. TMN PCS MSC- EIR: <F interface> MSC-HLR: <C> Defined in TIA VLR-VLR:<G interface> When communication btw VLRs MSC – ISDN <Di> T1 interface MSC-MSC: <E> Traffic and signalling
