National Sexual Health Advising Competencies

This framework, developed by a small working group over the past year, reviews and utilizes existing sexual health and HIV competencies from around the UK. It focuses on professional and ethical practice, care delivery and management, and knowledge, understanding, and skills. The framework outlines four stages of competence, ranging from observation to independent practice. The next steps involve a membership review, partnership working with relevant health departments, and finalizing the draft by summer 2012.
