Poole GP Education ONE DAY event Level 3 Safeguarding Children Training Date: Thursday 7th March 2013 Time:09.00 – 16.00 Location: Postgraduate Centre Course Overview: We are delighted to announce the local opportunity for GPs to access a ONE DAY, LSCB ACCREDITED, LEVEL 3 safeguarding children course - with multi agency delivery and details about local arrangements and procedures. This course has been developed by the Dorset, Bournemouth and Poole Safeguarding Children Boards in collaboration with Wessex Deanery, taking the core components of the 2-day Level 3 course. This day is specifically aimed at the needs of General Practice. It will include signs and symptoms of abuse, how to have ‘difficult conversations’ with parents and children, dilemmas in GP practice, the implications of the findings of local Serious Case Reviews on GP practice and how to work effectively with partner agencies in a changing Health and Social Care world.Who should attend?: This training is particularly relevant for all lead or deputy named GPs for Safeguarding Children within GP Practices. Spaces will be limited and bookable on a ‘first come first served’ basis. Applications from other GPs in the practice will be welcome if the lead/deputy cannot attend. Cost: WGPET Members = Free.
