  1. NING Guide for Global Citizens in Action • Learn how to join the NING site, post assignments, and connect with your community

  2. How to Join Ning: E-mail Invite • Open your e-mail invitation from Ning. • Select “Click to join.”

  3. Signing Up • Fill out the page with your e-mail and choose a password. • Click “Sign Up” at the bottom • Check your e-mail to verify your e-mail address.

  4. Creating a Profile • Make a profile for your account. • Enter your name, gender, country, and school. • Choose an appropriate profile picture. • Click “Join” and you’re almost finished!

  5. Membership Approval • Your membership will need to be approved in order for you to join the site. Once your membership is approved, you can start connecting!

  6. Your Group Page • You will use your Group page to connect with your partner school, share information and assignments, and learn about Afghanistan and the U.S.

  7. Joining Your Group: E-mail Invite • You’ll receive an e-mail invite to join your group. *You must accept the general NING invite before you can join! • Click on the “Check out...” e-mail link. • Select “Join Now” on the group page.

  8. Using Your Group Page • Respond to discussions from Global Nomads to post assignments and share your thoughts • Chat and connect with other group members

  9. Ning Website Overview • This website allows you to engage in discussions, share photos, videos, and other content, connect with your group, and personalize your profile.

  11. Connect: Discussions • Want to learn more? Go to Connect, then Forums, to start a discussion in one of these categories.

  12. Connect: Video Conferences • Go to Connect to see event information and prepare for your next video conference!

  13. Media • Share photos and videos • You can also see photos and videos from other GCA students and keep in touch with them.

  14. 2012-13 Groups • Go to 2012-13 Groups to access your group page, share assignments, and engage in discussion with your partner school.

  15. Profile • You can personalize your GCA profile on the “My Profile” tab.
