  2. Who are we? EDGE is a partnership to increase the number of people coming into the food and farming industry. The key partners include Anglia Farmers, Atlas Fram, Easton and Otley College, Norfolk and Suffolk County Councils and Brightcrop

  3. Project overview £1.4M Growth and Innovation Funding received to spread over two years. The key area of Innovation is that the project is partnership based, and led by Industry rather than education and training providers. The success of the project will be evaluated over four years.

  4. Project aims Increase the number of apprentices in food and farming A target of 440 is set for EDGE! To improve the training framework and delivery to more closely meet the needs of employers. To improve the representation of careers within schools, at careers events and with the general public. To establish and support a network of industry Ambassadors to promote careers within the industry.

  5. Why food and farming matters The sector employs 3.5m people in the UK – 1 in 7 jobs! Over 200 careers available The UK produces 63% of all the food we eat 60,000 jobs are forecast in food and farming over the next 10 years

  6. Where are we now? Over 200 apprenticeships in place Project now expanding from Norfolk and Suffolk into Cambridgeshire and Essex Over 36 jobs available monthly Over 60 industry ambassadors recruited
