  1. Report for the IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging (TMI) to IEEE NPSS AdCom Ron Jaszczak and Randy Brill March 2, 2013

  2. TMI continues to be an excellent IEEE Transaction. The 2012 Annual Meeting of the Steering Committee (SC) was held on December 10, 2012 in Nashville. The minutes are included as an appendix to this report.

  3. The TMI 2011 impact factor was 3.64. There were about 900 submissions for 2011, and the acceptance rate was about 22%. For original submissions, the average submission-to-first-decision was 43 days for 2012.

  4. The actual number of pages published in 2012 was higher than the budgeted page-count of 2,300, but within the 5% allowance (2,415). The page count will remain at 2,300 for 2013.

  5. There was a discussion to revise the 1984 TMI Letter of Agreement (LOA); often refer to as an MOU. After the SC Meeting, the SC Chair emailed the SC members a marked-up modified draft of the TMI LOA for consideration. This draft is included as an appendix to this brief report.

  6. The Steering Committee is seeking candidates for a new Editor-in-Chief (EIC) to replace the current EIC (Milan Sonka) whose term will end at the end of 2014.

  7. The Steering Committee elected Elsa Angelini (EMBS) to be Chair and treasurer of the TMI Steering Committee for 2013.
