  3. Participation Student participation (students starting) increased by 1.5% over 2014-15 (19,958 students to 20,264) In 2015-16, actual as compared to approved number of students increased by 1% to 93%

  6. Target Group Participation by Dual Credit Program Focus • For the 2015-16 school year, 20,264 students were enrolled provincially in dual credit programs: • 15,100 in the primary target group (75%) • 3,694 SHSM students (18%) • 1,920 OYAP students (9%)

  10. Summer SWAC, 2015-16 • The program requirements: • 1 dual credit + 1 Ontario curriculum credit • Dual credit teacher • On campus • The results: • 262 students started (82% of seats filled) • 15 programs • 89% retention rate • 89% success rate for Dual Credits

  17. 2016-17 Overview • Focus • Data-based decision making • Continue work with MAESD around apprenticeship dual credits • Focus on program quality and understanding why programs are successful • Improved achievement for First Nations, Métis and Inuit students and Children and Youth in Care area of focus for Ministry of Education

  18. 2016-17 • SHSM Programs • There is an opportunity to propose new SHSM programs to replace existing programs • Need to be clear which sector and how the dual credit aligns with the sector • Details in the Requirements of the RFP

  19. 2016-17 • Level 1 Apprenticeship Programs • Students must have a Registered Training Agreement to get MAESD seat purchase • SCWI seat purchase is only for Primary Target Group students, not OYAP students • See Pathways to Apprenticeship for clarification • Increased benchmark funding and Seat Purchase funding

  20. Improvements to EDCS Website • The following four changes will be implemented in December 2016: • Removal of Lessons Learned section from the interim and final reports • Addition of an OYAP column in extract 504 as a flag indicator
