  1. Doing Greater Works than Jesus Studies in John’s Gospel John 14

  2. Jesus Foretold the Kingdom Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. (Matthew 18:18 ESV) Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. (Matthew 11:11 ESV)

  3. Jesus Foretold the Kingdom But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,(Philippians 3:20 ESV) Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe,(Hebrews 12:28 ESV) We Receive the Kingdom

  4. Jesus Healed the Blind Therefore do not pronounce judgment before the time, before the Lord comes, who will bring to light the things now hidden in darkness and will disclose the purposes of the heart. Then each one will receive his commendation from God. (1 Corinthians 4:5 ESV) Hidden Motives Whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness. (1 John 2:9 ESV) Hatred

  5. But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. (1 Peter 2:9 ESV) We proclaim in order to share sight

  6. Jesus Cleansed the Lepers Some spots are darker than sores and scabs • Guilt • Discouragement • Frustration • Emotional scars

  7. Jesus Cleansed the Lepers …And he said to me, “These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. (Revelation 7:14 ESV) But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:7-9 ESV) Only one spot remover, The blood of Jesus Christ

  8. Jesus Raised the Dead When they heard these things they fell silent. And they glorified God, saying, “Then to the Gentiles also God has granted repentance that leads to life.”(Acts 11:18 ESV) Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.(1 Peter 2:12 ESV) We get to share life unending

  9. Jesus Fed the Hungry There is a hunger in each of us… “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. (Matthew 5:6 ESV) but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” (John 4:14 ESV) I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.” ( John 6:51 ESV)

  10. Jesus Stopped the Demons Satan’s servants are still taking men… So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds. (2 Corinthians 11:15 ESV)

  11. Jesus Stopped the Demons We can defeat his designs… …so that we would not be outwitted by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his designs. (2 Corinthians 2:11 ESV) We can fight him… We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,(2 Corinthians 10:5 ESV) And we can win… Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.(James 4:7 ESV)

  12. Jesus Calmed the Storm “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. (Matthew 5:9 ESV) Satan uses his tools effectively and exploits weaknesses We have tools also that we can use for peacemaking, i.e. Forgiveness, self-control, soft answers, compassion, kindness, love, and prayer

  13. “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. (John 14:12 ESV) Could the “he” be ME? Change lives. heal, raise up, satisfy, calm the storm, stop the demon, bring one into the kingdom? Making an eternal difference, In self? In ones we love?
