  1. Back to School Night7th Grade Intro to Spanish Bienvenidos a la clase de Español

  2. Why Study Spanish? • The purpose of this intro course is to continue and advance the prior Spanish language studies. The 90 consecutive days allow students to investigate the Spanish sounds, forms, and culture in a way they have not experienced in the past programs. The students will be expected to recall basic forms and information as well as demonstrate more advanced conversation skills and grammar. The goal of the Spanish survey course is that the students are ready to enter Spanish I in 8th grade should they choose to take that course.

  3. Overview of the class • Discussions of importance of learning a foreign language • Basic greetings/introduction skills • Adjectives including number and gender agreement • Verb conjugations • Basic vocabulary • Country study

  4. What to expect from Intro to Spanish • Exprésate Text will be used as a guide • Homework will not be assigned every night, but when assigned homework is expected to be done completely and correctly. • Homework could be in the form of (but not limited to): • Short practice sentences to reinforce daily lessons • Dialogues or skits with classmates • Summative or formative assessment preparation
