PDA “Personal Digital Assistant” Term coined by John Sculley at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada in January 7, 1992 as he referred to Apple’s “Newton” device Earlier devices were available in mid-1970’s (advance calculators, and electronic organizers) PDAs are often referred to as “Palms” or “Palm Pilots” after an early device created by Palm, Inc.
