  2. The back of the church was in great need of repair.

  3. Nelson and Elvis, one of our parishioners, have been working at repairing the back wall.

  4. The finished project on one side.

  5. Naturally, the other side also needed repair.

  6. Some of the children during Sunday school, after church, working on their crafts. We really need to raise the church building, and create additional space, so that the youth may attend their classes during the morning service.

  7. It is customary that the children enjoy a short ride in the back of the pick up truck after Sunday school. It works as a wonderful incentive.

  8. The Easter season is the busiest time of the year for us. We had services every day from Wednesday to Sunday with an all-night vigil on Saturday. Many Honduran churches try to do an all night vigil for Holy day, which we had tried in Guaimaca but didn’t work out very well. Here in Roatan, the members of the church were very eager to do it. One day after Bible Study, they suddenly began talking about a Vigil, and started organizing what to bring for food, etc. They were so enthusiastic that we just let them do what they wanted. We were really pleased at how well it worked out. Very few people left. The church members really seemed to enjoy it. I imagine they will want to do it again next year.

  9. Since it is generally a nice day at this time of the year, it is customary that we begin a block away from the church, and process, singing “All Glory, Laud and Honour”right to the church.

  10. The good thing is that here on the island, palm branches are easy to come by.

  11. The church decorated for Palm Sunday.

  12. A picture of us celebrating our Palm Sunday service.

  13. On Holy Saturday, we celebrated our all-night vigil until 6:00 am. Most people stayed the entire time. A few left after we gave out the food.

  14. Some of the girls were right into it ,singing a song at 3:00 am.

  15. She was the youngest person present all night, but couldn’t help feeling tired and fell asleep.

  16. It was beautiful celebrating the Resurrection service, and watching the sun rise on Easter Sunday at six o’clock in the morning.

  17. Thanks to a donation of $100, we are able to help send two of our parish’s youngsters to school. Kensor and Irsa are both presently in school until November, when the school year finishes here. We are helping to pay their tuition, school uniform, and to provide the books and materials that they need.

  18. One of the students, Kensor Onil Hernandez, standing at the back of our church building, is in first grade this year.

  19. The other student, Irsa Yamileth Bustillo Enamorado is in grade six this year. Even today, most Honduran youngsters do not get past this level.

  20. Thank you for your support. Without it, we would not be able to do the ministry for which we have been called, here on the island of Roatan. May God continue to bless you! Kara, Nelson and Stephen Mejia
