Division of labor • Archivists: Audra Eagle Yun and Rebecca Petersen • Input materials into AT • Export EAD for DSpacefinding aid • Attach handle to AT record • Cataloger: Carolyn McCallum • Add Name & Subject Headings • Use MarcEdit to fix “incomplete” MARCxml • Upload to OCLC • Upload to Voyager

  8. Win-win Pros for the Cataloger Pros for the Archivist Clearing up jargon between catalogers and archivists Maximizing a tool we use every day Enhancing exposure of collections • Cataloger considers the changes minor • This is a great time saver in comparison to having no MARC exported from AT

Moving Forward • We are using this test run to implement a major collaboration between catalogers and archivists • Have begun a project to create finding aids and MARC records for WorldCat and our local catalog for a collection of over 1,000 microfilm reels • Church Records: HIGHLY USED COLLECTION-previously only available in paper finding aids • Will be available in multiple discovery layers • Facilitates access for the end user
