  2. What is it? A tool to differentiate between shapes, separate their properties, and explain their relationships. Shapes on Hierarchy: kite, trapezoid, isosceles trapezoid, parallelogram, rectangle, rhombus and square.

  3. Why does that go there? “Every property true of all figures of one type in the hierarchy is also true of all figures of all the types below it to which the first is connected.” Each shape is traced back to a quadrilateral, making each shape a quadrilateral, which is a four sided polygon.

  4. Continued The last shape in the hierarchy is the square. This is because it has the most minimum requirements. It is connected to the rhombus and the rectangle. A rhombus because it has four equal sides, and a rectangle because it has four right angles.

  5. The Quadrilateral Hierarchy Theorem… Seven types of quadrilaterals are related. Who created it and when is unknown. However, it should last, because its connections are clean and clear, and summarize the connections between each quadrilateral.
