Credit Requirements • English 3.5 credits • Math 3.0 credits • Science 2.5 credits • Social Studies 3.0 credits • PE 1.5 credits • Health .5 credit • Fine Arts 1.0 credits • Occupational Ed. 1.5 credits • Electives 6.5 credits • Total 22.00 credits • Note: Graduation requirements may change based on state mandates

  4. 4 year college entrance requirements (differences) • 4 years of English • 3 years of math through Algebra 2 (includes math during senior year for most students) • 2 years of lab science (one must be an Algebra-based science - Chemistry or Physics) • 2 years of same foreign language • 3 years of Social Science • 1 year of Arts

  5. CADRsCollege Academic Distribution Requirements Students planning to go directly to a 4 year college need to take as many rigorous courses as possible during the senior year - English, math, science, social studies, world languages, arts

  6. Honors Freshman English Honors Sophomore English Survey of American Lit. AP U.S. History AP Human Geography AP Biology AP Chemistry AP Physics AP Calculus AB AP Calculus BC AP Statistics AP English Lit. AP Spanish Language (prepare for test) AP courses and Honors courses offered at WHS

Academic Challenge 3.0 minimum gpa (each semester) • 3 years foreign language • 4 years of English • 3 years of math through Trigonometry • 3 years of science including Biology and Chemistry or Physics • 1 year of Fine Arts • 1.5 years of Occupational Ed including Business Computer Applications I • Participate in one school sport /activity each year • Complete 10 hours community service each year

Distinguished Scholar Award • 3.5 minimum gpa cumulative • Same requirements as Academic Challenge plus • Member of National Honor Society • 4 years of math through Precalculus • Meet HSPE standards in all 4 areas • Complete 15 hours community service each year • Total of 5 credits from honors classes,AP classes, 4th year of same foreign language

  9. Running Start • Must be a junior • Can earn both high school and college credit • Must take placement test at WVC
