Workforce & Economic Development Council (WEDC)

  • Purpose

  • To provide strong leadership to the College and the community in all aspects of workforce training.

  • To serve as a recommending body to the Strategic Leadership Team.

  • To position the San Jacinto College District as a leader in technical training including credit courses, contract training, continuing education units, leisure learning courses, and all aspects of workforce training.

  • To demonstrate sound leadership to the College and the community in workforce development and education.

  • To coordinate workforce training activities, events, and processes providing necessary guidance to ensure that offerings by the college meet or exceed community expectations.

  • To lead the integration of credit and contract training efforts recommending appropriate communication to ensure that the college and community are well informed regarding college offerings.

  • To oversee program expansion and development inclusive of partnership opportunities with neighboring community colleges and other providers.
