  2. 3.1 Respiratory System • Be able to label a diagram • Know the functions of each part and the system • Explain inhalation and exhalation • Know where diffusion occurs • Know the difference between breathing and respiration • Know what is vital capacity and residual air • Know what affects vital capacity

  3. 3.2 Circulatory System • Be able to label a diagram • Know the functions of each part and the system • Know arteries, veins, capillaries • Function • Label on diagram • Location of valves • Where diffusion occurs • Know the heart • Label parts • Function • Location of valves • Know where oxygenated vs. deoxygenated blood is (on a diagram)

  4. Sec. 3.3 Excretory System • Be able to label a diagram • Know the functions of each part and the system • Know which system removes each type of waste • Where diffusion takes place

  5. 3.4 Digestive System • Be able to label a diagram • Know the functions of each part and the system • Know where physical and chemical digestion occur • Know where absorption (diffusion) occurs

  6. Sec. 3.5 Organ Systems Working Together • Know the systems involved in nutrients/wastes • Know the systems involved in regulation • Know how the nervous and endocrine system responses are different • Explain how your nervous system response when triggered by a stimuli

  7. Sec. 3.6 Protecting the Body • Be able to explain how a vaccine works • Be able to explain how antibodies are made • Know the terms antigen and pathogen • Explain what each line of defense does • Know what organs/tissues/cells are involved in each line of defense

  8. REMEMBER: Study all your “CYU” questions, diagrams, and notes! HW: Study guide (vocabulary on p. 88 to “neurons” - keep it simple! And, 10 thoughtful questions…see me if you are still unsure)
