  1. wpBusiness Wordpress Theme A Business Theme with Options Author: Sarah Neuber Theme URI: http://wpbusiness.sarah-neuber.de Author URI: http://www.sarah-neuber.de Email: sarah@neuber-web-solutions Skype: neuber-web-solutions License: http://themeforest.net/legal/licences

Such requests can be fulfilled upon agreement and will be charged extra. In other words you be specific as to what you need and I'll give you a quote Please keep in mind that if you have problems with any of the plugins you might be using, you are better off contacting the plugin's author. If a plugin suggested here does not meet your needs or does not work as it claims any more, please do not hold me responsible. Contact the plugin’s author or/and try to find another. ! IMPORTANT ! -------------------- If you wish to be notified when updates are released on this theme please send me an email (sarah@neuber-web-solutions.de) stating the theme you have purchased. Your email will not be used for any other purposes than simply notifying you about updates! Please do report bugs! Suggestions on new features you'd like to see are very welcome! Thanks so much!

  3. wpBusiness Translating Translating the theme: ----------------------------- The template files are fully localized ready to have the text extracted and translated. For this you need to download the Code Styling and Localization plugin: http://www.code-styling.de/english/development/wordpress-plugin-codestyling-localization-en Install it and follow it’s instructions for translating. To give you a brief overview (does not replace reading through the instructions for yourself) After installation got to Tools < Localization 1. Choose the theme (wpBusiness-folder must be writable!) 2. Add New Language 3. Choose your Language from the modal window that opens 4. Click Create po. File 5. Click rescan (links to the right)-The plugin will scan the files to extract all text 6. Click Edit (again from links to the right) 7. Edit<Translate 8. When finished save and generate mo file. Finished! Don’t forget to set WPLANG inside of wp-config.php to your chosen language.

  4. wpBusiness Installing Install Wordpress Make sure you have an .htaccess file and a wp-config.php filein the root directory. Both need to be writable by the server as the theme is being set up. After you finish you can change the permisions to something more secure (For SEO friendly URL's the .htaccess file uses the directive mod-rewrite. If your web server hasn't loaded this module then it will ignore this directive. You will then need to contact you hosting provider for more information.)‏ You also need to create an "uploads" folder inside the wp-content folder and make that also writable by the server. Next, install the theme

  5. wpBusiness Installing Install the theme: 1. Download and save the theme's zipped folder to your desktop. 2. Unzip. You should see the wpBusiness parent theme and the 4 child themes: wpBusinessGreen, wpBusinessOrange, wpBusinessBlue and wpBusinessLightBlue 3. Connect to your hosting account with the FTP client of your choice, and get inside of your WordPress install 4. Take the 5 theme folders and move them inside the themes folder. 5. Now go back to your browser, login to your WordPress administrator interface - and go to the Appearance > Themes. Once there you should now see a new listing for your new WordPress parent theme and child themes you just installed. 6. From there, click on the child theme of your choice to activate it. 7. Next go to the wpBusiness Theme Options page (appears under Appearance after activation) and configure your settings-some may require that you create some pages first so go ahead and do that. If you want to see how the theme looks like first then please save at least the default settings first! The next slides will take you through the theme options section to section. Plugins to download: cformsII Secure and Accessible PHP Contact Form v.2.0WP http://mtekk.weblogs.us/code/breadcrumb-navxt/

  6. wpBusiness Theme Options General Options: --------------------------------------------- The instructions I feel are quite clear so I‘ll elaborate only on the things that may need some more explanation. As I ask for page info here it would be good if those pages are already created. So go to Pages < Add New and create them You may call the Home, Services and Blog pages anything else you may like, that‘s why I ask for the Title of each in the Theme Options And of course you may have as many pages and subpages you like.

  7. wpBusiness Theme Options The Options: Static Navi with Drop Down on Subscribe Static Navi with Drop Line on Subscribe Animated: Drop Down on hover Animated: Drop Line on hover

  8. wpBusiness Theme Options Your Options: 1. Static Content a. an Image b. an Image with some text (Tagline) In both cases the image is really a page specific image based on your Homepage SLUG. So if your Homepage has the slug home then create the image you want and save is as home.jpg/.png/.gif* *Depends on what you set on “Page Specific Images - File Type” The text is pulled from 2 different custom fields: (case sensitive-lower case please!) tagline intro The tagline is wraped in an h2 element with the class „title“ The intro is wraped in a p In the demo I also have 2 buttons: „Buy Now“ and „Take a Tour“ Both are again taken from custom fields: buy_now_link take_tour_link They provide the links for the buttons. Both are anchor links with the class action_btns. Additionally the „Buy Now“ button has the class buy_now and the „Take a Tour“ button a take_tour class. The php code will output only the custom fields it finds. So if you only use one, only that one will appear. All of the above custom fields need to be used on the Home page post

  9. wpBusiness Theme Options Your Options 2: 2. Animated Content a. Images b. Images along with some text (Tagline) In both cases the images are pulled from the “Services” subpages and based on each subpage’s SLUG. So for example as Service one (the first subpage of Services) has the slug service-one create the image you want and save is as service-one.jpg/.png/.gif* *Depends on what you set on “Page Specific Images - File Type” The text is pulled from 2 different custom fields: (case sensitive-lower case please!) tagline intro The tagline is wraped in an h2 element with the class „title“ The intro is wraped in a p In the demo I also have 2 buttons: „Buy Now“ and „Take a Tour“ Both are again taken from custom fields: buy_now_link take_tour_link They provide the links for the buttons. Both are anchor links with the class action_btns. Additionally the „Buy Now“ button has the class buy_now and the „Take a Tour“ button a take_tour class. The php code will output only the custom fields it finds. So if you only use one only that one will appear. All of the above custom fields need to be created on each of the Services subpage posts

  10. wpBusiness Theme Options Your Options 3: 3. Animated Content with "Tabed"-like navigation a. Images only b. Images with Text (Tagline) Same applies here as with the previous slide. The content box will grow vertically to accomodate your content. Please note that it‘s width is 960px with 54px allaround padding. Remember this when calculating your images width! Worth noting also is the classes that are used each time. This way you can easily target each case with css: Static content is wrapped in a <div class="staticCont"> Animated Content is wrapped in a <div class="animCont"> Animated Content with „Tabed“-like navigation is wrapped in a <div class="tabContainer"> The navigation is contained in a <ul class="tabNav alignleft"> And the navigation with icons in a <ul class="tabNav tabNavico alignleft"> I hope this helps you locate where everything is so you can style the different elements to your liking. A great tool that will make your life easier is firebug so be sure to look into that. Right, moving on…

  11. wpBusiness Theme Options The Welcome text is taken from the Homepage post The About text is pulled from the About page post or by the contents of a custom field: excerpt that you have the choice of creating if you want. The image from the first image found in the post or from a custom field thumb_img* The Latest News are taken from the blog-the 2 most recent posts And the Contact form from the Secure and Accessible PHP Contact Form v.2.0WP plugin *more on this on slide14

  12. wpBusiness Theme Options The featured area is used on all subpages (reduced in size) to display either the page title the user is on or a page specific image. A word on the images: If you decide on the image over the title this is what you need to keep in mind: All images must be saved inside the headerImages subfolder (found inside the images folder of the activated child theme) and must have the lower caseprefix subheader_ For page-pages (page.php) the image must be saved after the page slug For the category pages (category.php) the image must be saved after the category TITLE Lower case and spaces replaced by a „–“ eg Category One becomes category-one For archive (archive.php) the image must be savedas subheader_archive (in other words the image will not change as it does in the above 2 cases) For search (search.php) the image must be savedassubheader_search And finally for 404 error page (404.php) the image must be savedas subheader_page404 The post pages do not have the option of using an image. They always display the post title. As for the file type it depends what you have selected on “Page Specific Images - File Type”

  13. wpBusiness Theme Options Services Page: 2 display options with excerpt or without. A word on the images: On both options the images are taken 1. Either from the first image you use in the services subpage post or 2. From the custom field thumb_img* (lower case!) If an excerpt is used then your image can have a max-width of 114px Without an excerpt the image can have a max-width of 180px Keep this in mind if you go for the custom field option. *More on this on slide14 A word on the excerpt: The excerpt is taken 1. Either from the custom field intro (lower case!) or 2. From the custom field excerpt (lower case!) All of the above custom fields (if used) must be created on the services subpage posts

  14. wpBusiness Theme Options I have found that, for best results, the Thumbnail size needs to be set to 114px width And the medium size to 180px width The height (as well as the large size) is upto you So use these setting before you upload any images! Found under Settings < Media I have previously talked about a thumb_img custom field now it‘s time to talk about it‘s path as you need to enter this in the value field. I have found that an easy way is to actually upload the image to the Media library and then copy and paste it‘s path -see image below

  15. wpBusiness Images Changing the logo ------------------------ Make your changes to the logo.psd file and save your image as logo.png in the activated child theme's images folder and it will replace the one that came with the theme. If any of your images use the alpha transparency setting-in Photoshop png24. Then save them with the suffix –trans So that IE6 can play nice. I have included Dean Edwards script for this so for more information please see http://code.google.com/p/ie7-js/ Keep to the dimmensions of the one provided if you do not want to change the css code. The logo font I used is called Corbell

  16. wpBusiness CSS CSS files ------------ I'm using 3 CSS files in the parent theme which are also included in each child theme. The first one, reset.css, is a generic reset file. Many browsers interpret the default behavior of html elements differently. By using a general reset CSS file, we can work round this. The second file, basic.css, contains some general styling The third file, print.css well as the name says it contains styles for printing Each child theme comes with it’s own styles written in style.css Do not edit the file templates of the parent theme! If you do then at least keep a log of what you changed for later use in case of an update Make changes to the child theme of your choice using it’s style.css file. This way any future updates of the parent theme will not affect your style changes. In other words you will not loose any of your customization.

  17. wpBusiness Conclusion Once again, thank you so much for purchasing one of my themes. As I said at the beginning, I'd be glad to help you if you have any questions relating to this theme. When you encounter problems and you ask for support, please be specific as to what the problem is and when it appears. A link must always be provided If a link is not possible then screenshots please. Support requests that do not fulfill the above requirements will be ignored! In some cases I might ask you for access to your wordpress wp-admin or even ftp access to your server if this is the case then please create a new account for me and delete the login info once the issue has been solved. Additionally please keep in mind that some support requests are best handled over skype so you will need to download the software if you do not already have it installed. I usually answer emails within 24 hours and if I’m online right away and I always do my best to assist  Oh and please, if you haven't done so already do leave a comment and rate the theme. Thanks Sarah Neuber
