  1. Afarah Board Biography Afarah Board is a senior manager in Southern California Edison’s Customer Service Business Unit, where she is currently on special assignment on the Enterprise Resource Planning/SAP project. Throughout Afarah’s 25 years with SCE, she has held various management positions of increasing responsibility in the company’s Customer Service and Transmission & Distribution business units. The variety of positions Afarah has held is an example of her personality. She has played a key role in the successful implementation of SCE strategic initiatives related to statewide deregulation; automated meter reading; advances in emerging technology; technology portfolio management; and effectively managing billing and collection operations. Afarah is a change agent, who is an innovative, visionary leader who looks for faster and better ways to accomplish goals through people. Afarah is President of the Southern California Chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE). She is also co-founder of SCE’s Black History Month celebration, “Connecting the Evolution of Electricity to Black History.” This annual event highlights African-American inventors, focusing on those related to the evolution of electricity and technology. Active in the community for many years, Afarah serves on the boards of the Boys & Girls Club of Redlands, the Ecclesia Community Development Collaboration and is co-founder and president of the Cultural Awareness Coalition (CAC), a non-profit organization. Afarah earned her MBA and Bachelor of Arts degrees in business from University of Redlands, and has completed management training at Harvard and Pepperdine universities. In addition, she has received a number of corporate, civic and leadership awards and honors.
