Introduction • The scientific name for an alligator is Alligator Mississppiesas. • The biggest reptile in North America. • The scientific name for a Chinese alligator is Alligator Saneness. • Alligators are carnivores. • Alligators can live up to 70 years old. • Alligators are legally protected. • Alligators can go 25 years in captivity!!!   3. Alligators have a scaly back like snakes, but with spikes. • Alligators can weigh up to 1,000 pounds! • Alligator’s back muscles are stronger than their front. • Green eyes or dull grey eyes • Alligators have 80 teeth! • Alligators have a big head. Physical Features!

Alligators have strong muscles to help them run and catch their prey. • Alligators have flaps in their mouth to keep the water out. • Alligators can hold their breath for an hour so they can just sit their and wait for their prey to come. • Alligators have very sensitive ears so the ears vibrate in the water so they can see their prey. During madding season they do something called a death role which is when they twist each others legs to rip apart their prey. • Alligators carries babies in their mouth to protect them. • They make bellowing noise to attract mate. • Baby alligators make a weird sound that says they’re in trouble. • Alligators fight over females with one another.
