  4. Enjoyable Learning Experience • Become a member of a learning community • Broaden understanding of process of science • Emphasis on learning the process, not on winning the competition

  5. An opportunity to explore • Topics researched are based on individual’s interest. • Class time will focus on learning the process of science. • Topics include but not limited to: • Biology • Chemistry • Physics • Math • Public Health • Psychology • Genetics….

  6. Interactions with Professionals • Presentations at local science competitions • Summer research programs at: • Stony Brook University • Brookhaven National Laboratory • Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory • LIJ and local Hospitals • And more

  7. National Competitions • Program is designed to give students their best opportunity to enter competitions • The Dupont Challenge • Intel Science Talent Search (STS) • Siemens Science and Technology Competition • LISEF and the ISEF • JSHS, Google and more

How is the program designed • 9th grade – classroom setting. • Basics of Science Research • Essay Competition • 10th grade – classroom setting • Developing a research project • Data Analysis, Presentation Skills • 11th grade – independent study • Local Competitions and Research Project • 12th grade – independent study • National Competitions

  9. How do I apply? • Fill Out the Individual Application • Students will be contacted for an interview • After acceptance students will be notified by guidance
