  1. Applying 2008 DEER 09-11 Planning Values to the 2002 Secret Surplus Study 18 May 2009 Peter Lai, CPUC Energy Division

  2. Objectives of Analysis • Estimate how the 2008 DEER 09-11 planning values would impact the results of the 2002 Secret Surplus Study (02 SSS) • key work paper for the 2004 adopted goals • focus adjustments on gross for lighting (all CFLs and linear fluorescents), NTG for all • Estimate both the gross and net values for the study when adjusted for 2008 DEER • 02 SSS reported 10 year net electric potential

  3. Estimation Process Undertaken • Use 02 SSS statewide gross measure annual results for each of ten years • Add adjustment factors for DEER value differences from underlying values: • kWh, kW, negative therms ratios for main lighting measures (CFL and linear fluorescents) • NTG values for all measures in DEER • Develop new annual gross and net values for each of the ten years • Aggregate the adjusted annual net and gross values by measure group and sector • Reduce to IOU portions of statewide values

  4. Results of SSS 02 Adjustments

  5. Results of SSS 02 Adjustments

  6. 04Goals Compared to SSS 02

  7. 04 Goals vs. SSS 02 Original and Adjusted

  8. HVAC Interactive Therms
