  9. Why I chose to Introduce EpicMix, the newest product of VR • I chose Vail Resorts as the subject for my portfolio because it is where I intend on starting my career. I spend a lot of time researching the company, its newest successes, innovations, and developments on and off the mountain. . • There’s never been anything like EpicMix as it allows skiers to check in at the mountain, list what runs they’ve done, upload pictures, earn points, and connect with others on the mountain. • Social media is the future of marketing and is being used for so many fields. It only makes sense to create an app for the ski industry. • I hope this portfolio introduce the product successfully and accomplish goals such as educating Vail Resort’s publics about this newest piece of technology.

  10. THE MOST IMPORTANT REASON… • I have vacationed and lived in the Vail Resorts environment my whole life, so I feel that my perspective of being a local and tourist will bring a lot to the company and a great perspective in presenting this new product.

  11. Outline of the Portfolio • Table of Contents of Outline: • Folder • Direction Sheet • Fact Sheet • Audience Definition Sheet • News Release • Backgrounder on Vail Resorts • Backgrounder on Heidi Kercher-Pratt • Product Blog • Print ad

  12. Exert from Direction Sheet- To layout portfolio • Subject: Vail Resorts, a company that owns four of the top ski areas in the United States. • Format: This portfolio will be designed as a way for locals to learn more about the mobile application. I will format a copy of the portfolio for the Vail Resorts websites. • Objective: The goal of this portfolio is to inform (Skiers or Vail’s publics) about the resort and its newest mobile application Epic mix. • Intended Audience: Skiers from both the Vail Valley and other avid skiers across the country. • Angle: First mobile app designed for the ski community • Key Ideas: Since this is the first mobile application for the ski community I want to be able to use this portfolio to feature it on our website and VR’s other social media websites.

  13. Exert from Audience Definition Sheet • Audience Definition Sheet • My target audience will be skier and snowboard locals of all the Vail Resorts Ski areas. Some features about Epic Mix that will mainly address this audience will be the ability to share your ski experience with friends such as tracking runs, logging hours, and photos. • The secondary audience will be avid skiers across the country that do not normally do not have access to a mountain. Epic Mix will be marketed for other benefits of Epic Mix such as the ability to read snow reports, plan your routes, and read news updates from other skiers and snowboarders. • Who motivates them: The target audience is motivated more or less by other skiers and friends in their community that ski or snowboard.
