Enochs High School What is a Program Offering/Career Pathway? • A series of classes that have an emphasis on a particular vocation/career/area of interest. • These classes usually satisfy a specific graduation requirement, i.e. art or science and/or they may be counted in the elective requirement for graduation credit. • Usually there is one class per year, sometimes there are two. • Will give students a good idea as to if they have a genuine interest in this field or not.

  6. Skills and training in Composition, Design, Layout, Editing andPhoto Editing including Product Distribution and Economics involved with all distribution. • Various Courses satisfy Visual/Performing Arts and/orPractical Art and Computer Literacy graduation requirements and are A-G approved.

  7. With the rise of social media and internet business there is a high demandfor video and graphic designers in the work place. • Course content is structured through project based learning both from lecture and hands-on experience • This pathway prepares students to immediately go into the workforce, or continue to further their education by taking college level courses.

  8. Pre-Vet Science • Agriculture program with a veterinary science emphasis. • Helps prepare students for employment in the animal science veterinary field. • Satisfies science and practical art graduation requirements.

  9. Pre-Vet Science • The Program • 9th Grade: Ag Science 1-2 • 10th Grade: Ag Science 3-4 • 11th Grade: Ag Biology and/or Ag Computer Lit • 12th Grade: ROP Veterinary Science Additional Science course such as Chemistry are taken in the 11th or 12th grade.

  10. Pre-Vet Science • Organized instruction which prepares students for employment in agriculture, advanced vet science training, and post secondary level education. • Courses are CSU/UC approved. • Courses must be taken in order.

  12. Forensic/Biotech Academy • Four year program designed to teach students about the world of forensic/biotech science as it applies to current real life careers. • Courses satisfy science and elective graduation requirements.

Forensic/Biotech Academy • 9th graders take Pre-Academy Earth Science • Academy begins in 10th grade • Students stay together as a group for Science, English, and Social Science in grades 10, 11, & 12. • Cross-curricular activities, field trips, and guest speakers. • 9th and 10th grade science classes participate in forensics based labs throughout the school year.

  14. Forensic/Biotech Science • The Program • 9th Grade: Pre-Academy Earth Science • 10th Grade: Academy Biology • 11th Grade: Forensics Biotechnology & Chemistry • 12th Grade: ROP Biotechnology 4 Additional Science classes such as Anatomy & Physiology are taken in the 12th grade.

  15. Forensic/Biotech Science • Courses are structured through lecture, lab, and exploratory experiences. • Courses must be taken in order. • Year 1 & 2 courses are CSU/UC approved. • Year 3 course is pending approval from CSU/UC. • Year 4 is an approved research based ROP course.

Enochs High SchoolProgram Offerings/Career Pathways • Who is eligible to take these courses? • Students living within the Enochs High School attendance area who meet the designated pre-requisites for each course. • Students living outside the Enochs attendance area (within Modesto City Schools) who apply and are accepted to Enochs High School on an Intra/Inter District Transfer.

  18. James C. Enochs High SchoolProgram Offerings/Career Pathways • How to apply for an Intra/Inter District Transfer • Establish that the student meets minimum requirements: • Minimum 2.0 GPA • No unsatisfactory citizenship marks • No unexcused absences • No suspensions

Enochs High SchoolProgram Offerings/Career Pathways • How to apply for an Intra District Transfer continued • Apply to Program of Interest by designated due date : February 28, 2014 – 3:00 PM • Return all application documents to the Enochs Curriculum Office – Building A • Interview (required for impacted programs). • Acceptance or Denialnotices will not be mailed until April. It is advised to ballot and register at your school of residence in the event of not being accepted into a program.
