  1. Layers of the Earth OBJECTIVE: SWBAT describe the four layers of the Earth after completing a reading and a foldable.

  2. OPENING • Do Now: After receiving an apple, make an observation on the layers. • Skin – the thinnest part of the apple • Pulp – the thickest part of the apple. Makes up the majority of the apple • Pit – located in the center of the apple

  3. LAYERS OF THE EARTH • Close your eyes, imagine your traveling to the center of the Earth. You are going further into the center of the Earth….. And suddenly, what’s happening, does everything look the same, is it the same temperature? Write down what you think you would observe..

SAN ENTRY After Completing your foldable, answer the following questions: • What is the order of the layers of the earth (outermost to innermost)? • What is the layer we live on? • Which layer is the thickest? • Which layer is the warmest? • What is the relationships between the temperature and how deep the later of the Earth is?
