The My PDP model - a flexible structure based on tried and tested principles My PDP = Resource + Templates: Online resource – guidance and structure, delivered via Blackboard Academic Suite? and centred on a four-part PDP ‘process’ Templates that encourage reflection and build into an online portfolio with prioritised action points Direct access to transcript information via resource Faculty ‘tailoring’ via My Degree area in resource, example portfolios and special templates Students own their portfolios but can share all or parts if they wish (or are told to)

Pros and cons of Blackboard Academic Suite? for delivery of PDP ePortfolios PROs A tested system that works, here and now Web-based and integrated with Bb Student eLearning portal Relatively simple for staff and students to use Technical support available Other ePortfolio uses are possible CONs Continuing annual expense of license Inertia against changing product and supplier Need to adapt to specific features and workings Some teething problems: not all editing features are Mac-compatible; shared portfolio deletion tricky
