Economy • Maximizing investments from state run programs • Example: Cap-and-Trade & Prop 39 funds • Maintaining economic vitality, quality of life and creating sustainable job growth • California can become the model to the nation and rest of the world on how to curtail GHG emissions while bolstering our state’s economy

  4. Environment • Rising sea levels and dramatic changes in weather patterns • High rates of extinction for both plants & animals • Loss of ecosystems around the state • Increased GHG emissions caused by population growth and increased energy & fuel consumption

  5. Policy • Align California’s energy policy with our state’s growing energy and transportation needs, which: • preserves grid reliability while mitigating GHG emissions • enables ALL renewable technologies and alternative fuels to be considered for RD&D programs and the CPUC’s LTPP process • considers direct and indirect costs to the electrical system
