  2. SS Homework/ Skill Review: Math: Multiplication: It is that students spend at least 15 minutes a night practicing their multiplication facts! There are many games and sites that we use in class to help students practice. Things have been going very well with the FreeRice.comwebsite! To date our class has raised, and recorded over 134 000 grains of rice for donation. Including 10 000 grains in ONE evening from ONE student Aaradhana who spent over an hour answering multiplication questions! We have completed our unit on Patterns and will be moving on to a unit in geometry. We will also be intensifying our fact review for multiplication as it seems many students have had a slight regression in their memorization. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE practice your facts at home. Things to Remember… Report Cards Go Home March 10 3-Way Conferences March 11-12 Last Day of Classes March 14 Back to School March 31 critical LA: Choosing a Book Students in our class have been finding DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) time a struggle lately. This week we will be looking at a new strategy for choosing a book to red. It is “I PICK” Students will be looking at different forms and genres of books and picking books that are appropriate for them. It is our goal that, by the end of the week, students are able to enjoy DEAR time again! . . . and, as always, be sure to read for 15 every night Learning in Action Congratulations to Kassandraand Gairon on being chosen to represent our class in the school speaking contest.
