  4. Accomplishments • After she was arrested, it sparked a bus boycott for over 300 days. • A year later, the Supreme Court –changed the rules on the bus on the basis of civil rights. • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15p5HB-FpjI

  5. How would I feel … • Racism in any form is unacceptable. If I was growing up in America in the 50s and I was ‘coloured’ I would always have to give up my seat for the ‘whites’. I would just do it because I would not know any different. • It was what was expected. Changing people’s perceptions is very difficult unless there is feeling of change amongst all people.

  6. Relevance to Today • Without, Rosa Parks stating, ‘I don’t want to move, my feet hurt’ who knows what America would look like today! • It sparked off the civil rights movement and led to the rise of Martin Luther King.
