  2. 1. Set up a new file • Dimension: 210mm x 285mm • 3mm bleed on each side, that is: 216mm x 291mm • Keep the text at least 8mm away from each margin • Put all the pictures , fonts and the artwork in the same folder

  4. 2. Put a picture into a file • Under “file” menu, click “place” to select a picture you want to pull in. Don’t use “copy” and “paste” or drag a picture in because pictures may not be linked this way.

  6. Picture link - Indesign • If you make changes to a picture, there will be an excalmatory mark after it, that means you need to update its link. • If there is a question mark, then you need to re-link the picture. • Under “window” menu click “link”, links dialogue box will come out

  7. 3. Picture requirement - Photoshop • Picture in tiff/ jpg format, • Resolution must be 180dpi • Picture must have only one layer • If it’s full color, pix mode should be CMYK, not RGB, if it’s b&w, then grayscale

  10. Check the artwork • To see if there is any problem with the pictures, links, size, see below • If the photograph is blurry you will need to increase the size in Photoshop

  11. Click file then preflight - Indesign

  14. To package a file - Indesign Step 1: open the file and do as below: file-package

  15. Step 2: after seeing this dialogue box , click package

  16. Step 3: click contiune - Name it your page name

  17. Step 4: save the folder on your PC, make sure the first 3 items are checked

  18. Step 5: check the newly saved folder, there should be the artworks, a txt file, fonts folder, and links folder, please check and make sureall the pictures are in folder.
