  6. Perseverance(hupomone)literally “to remainunder.”

  7. Perseverance • Not passiveresignation. • It is victorious triumphantendurance. • Perseverance’s purpose. 2Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.(James 1:2-4)

  8. To persevere you must focus on your goal and your God. Therefore, those also who suffer according to the will of God shall entrust their souls to a faithful Creator in doing what is right.(I Peter 4:19)

  9. Perseverance is not optional… …it’s essential, you won’t make it without it!

  10. But flee from these things, you man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseveranceand gentleness. (I Timothy 6:11)

  12. Gentleness (praupathia) can also be translated meekness or humility.

  13. The man of God has nothing to brag about!

  14. He is very aware of where His power comes from. 28 We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ. 29 For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me. (Colossians 1:28-29)

  15. He is very aware of where His power comes from. 28 We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ. 29 For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me. (Colossians 1:28-29)

  16. He is an unworthyservant. So you too, when you do all the things which are commanded you, say, “We are unworthy slaves; we have done only that which we ought to have done.” (Luke 17:10)

  17. Gentleness always exalts God and others, never self.

  18. (Philippians 2:3-8) 3Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; 4do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. 5Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,

  19. (Philippians 2:3-8) 6who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. 8Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

  20. Righteousness, Godliness,Faith, Love,Perseverance & Gentlenessare the goal of the man of God. They are his lifelongobjectives.

  21. If those virtues are not a person’s constantaim, they are not a man of Godbut a powerlessimposter!
