Does your role involve having difficult and complex conversations with patients, their families or colleagues as part of supporting those who have life threatening /advancing chronic illness, palliative or end of life care needs?Would you like the opportunity to develop communication skills and strategies that can help you feel more confident and skilled to engage with theseconversations in an effective way? Would you like to gain post graduate level accreditation for developing yourknowledge and skills that are helpful for your professional development needswithin your role or for your CV? If your answer is yes to these, then this course could be just right for you! You can gain a nationally recognised accreditation through a two day course or develop this further into a Post-Graduate qualification ‘Connected’ - National Advanced Communication Skills training course Connected is the name for the National communication skills programme which incorporates the best of a number of previous communications skills training programmes. It is a two-day programme based on experiential learning using actors to enable intensive role play This 2 day course can be taken alone or as part of the MSc programme (subject to available places) Cost: £499 (for the stand alone Connected course) Wednesday 19 September 2012 Thursday 20 September 2012 ‘Facilitation of therapeutic relationships through the use of advanced communication skills’ The 30 credit module can be accessed as a stand alone module or as part of the MSc Palliative & End of Life Care Pathway. This will incorporate the ‘Connected’ course. If you have already done the Connected training course, you can transfer that accreditation across as part of this module.
