Introduction

  • ACTECO : IP-SMEs (FP6) – priority 3

  • Outcome from PLASMATECH

  • 3 main fields: textiles, food applications and biomedical devices

  • Breakthrough innovation  objectives defined by end-users

  • Innovation by plasma: low pressure & atmospheric pressure

  • Project: 10 work packages (6 RTD)

  • 26 partners: 70% SMEs

  • Start of the project: 1th of May 2005

  • Duration of the project: 4 years

Marc Pauwels

Objectives

  • Support less RTD intensive sectors in development of new products and production systems

  • Development new plasma systems  hyper-functional nano-coatings and durable surface engineering

  • Modeling plasma processes

  • Reduce waste, use of hazardous substances and resource consumption

  • Improved performance of existing products

  • Creation of radically new products

  • Enhancing the competitiveness of European companies
