Requirements of Modules under Revision • Applicable to the framework of the General Health Interview Survey • Time limitation to approximately 5 minutes • Validated for use in epidemiological studies • Feasible for lay interviewers • Producing comparable indicators across the EU countries • Applicable to different modes of data collection

Suggestions by RKI Generic measures: • Psychological distress, Mental Health Inventory (MHI-5) from SF-36 • Psychological wellbeing, Energy and Vitality Index (EVI) from SF-36 Specific measures: • Brief Patient Health Questionnaire, Depression Module (PHQ-9) • Brief Patient Health Questionnaire, Anxiety 5-item Panic Module • Memory Impairment Screen Associated measures: • Social support (Oslo) 3-item scale
