Curriculum Groups: Expectations • Complete the following for each course: - Concept Organizer (used to complete unit KUD’s) - Curriculum Map (Standards Alignment, Suggested Assessments, Lesson Essential Questions, Texts, Additional Resources) - KUD’s (for each unit) - Student Learning Map with assessment (for each unit) - Two sample units for each course

  3. Curriculum Development Timeline Half Day Curriculum Work Begin working on curriculum map and KUD’s. Bring completed work to leadership team meeting for review. Half Day Curriculum Work Complete work on student learning maps and begin to work on units for courses (two units for each course –a total of 8 units) FullDay Curriculum Work Continue working on units. Bring finished units to leadership team meeting for review. February March April May June July Curriculum Work Continue working on units. Bring finished units to leadership team meeting for review. Full Day Curriculum Work Complete work on curriculum maps and KUD’s and begin to work on student learning maps. Bring completed work to leadership team meeting for review. Half Day Curriculum Work Continue working on units. Bring finished units to leadership team meeting for review.

  4. Curriculum Committee Project • Each committee will utilize the CCSS along with the following sites to complete the items necessary to develop the curriculum for their respective subject areas. Science Example Purpose: Students become active learners as they investigate foundational chemistry concepts including safety, atomic structure, isotopes, periodicity, ionic and covalent bonds, and basic nomenclature and balancing of chemical equations.
