  1. COMPUTER PRESENTATIONS DURING A VIDEO CONFERENCE.

  2. COMPUTER PRESENTATIONS&VIDEO CONFERENCING • Tips and Tricks • Suggestions • Real World Scenarios • What to expect • What to do • What to ask for

  3. BACKGROUND Video conferencing can be used to transmit the screen of a laptop computer to the other participants at the far end connection. It is useful for powerpoint presentations, software demonstrations, images, client sign off etc. It is referred to as a ‘PC connection’, content sharing or H239.

  4. What can be shown or used? • PC or Mac’s can be used – laptops preferred. • VGA / desktop monitor style connection is required. • Powerpoint, Word, Excel, any software can be used. • The screen from your PC will be shown on-screen at the other locations.

  5. Keep it simple • Your screen will be shown at 800 x 600. • Use this display setting when making your presentation. • Use large, clear fonts as it will be shown on a TV screen not a computer monitor • Avoid loud, solid blocks of colour, keep it crisp and subtle.

  6. What to ask for? • At the time of booking ensure that you request a PC connection, an additional fee may apply. • Depending on the capabilities of the facility you are booking, we will either arrange for ‘scan convertor’ or Polycom’s visual concert. • If neither of these are available, we recommend using downloadable software www.gotomypc.com which can connect 2 computers independently of the video conference. • You should ask for access time prior to the meeting to ensure time to configure the equipment.

  7. What might go wrong? • Keep the content in from the edges, somtimes they get cropped by the TV screen. • If using a scan convertor, hit F8 on the keyboard once the equipment is connected. This will tell the computer you have connected a second screen. • Make sure you have a VGA connection. • Make sure you have the AC power supply and charged batteries.

  8. I’ve still got more questions! • Then ask the experts! • Eyenetwork can help you with every aspect of your video conference planning • Call 0845 355 0290 • Or www.eyenetwork.com
