  1. The Drinking Age Emily Szmidt CIS 1055-611

  2. Other Countries USA! The United States has one of the highest legal drinking ages in the world. For example, Europe, South America & Central America have their legal drinking age set at 18. These countries have less problems relating to alcohol abuse.

  3. Education Lowering the drinking age will make it legal for teenagers to drink and will help stop abuse. Alcohol is “an enticing forbidden fruit” Since it is something they are not allowed to do it only makes then want to rebel and do it more. Making it legal will allow teenagers to experience alcohol for the first time with their parents Education from their parents and in school will result in smarter choices regarding alcohol.

  4. The Military Red, White & Blue! Many teenagers join the military right after they graduate high school. They are legally not allowed to have an alcoholic drink. However, they are allowed to risk their lives and fight for our country. If an 18 year old kid is old enough to go over sea’s, fight, and possibly die for our country he or she should able to go out and enjoy a drink when they return home.

  5. Responsibility Responsibility Age does not reflect your responsibility There are many young people in this country who are 21 and are not nearly as mature as some who are 18,19 etc.. 21 is just a number, it’s not a maturity level.

  6. Fallen Heroes Support Our Troops!! There have been roughly 4,000 U.S military fatalities in the war so far. Almost half of those soldiers were under he age of 21. What is not acceptable is that these “kids” take on adult tasks and responsibilities while they’re at war, but can not have adult like freedoms when they come home by being able to go out anywhere with their friends. Whether they want to drink or not they will not be able to enter most places because of their age.

  7. Types of Drugs Used by Teenagers WOW!!

  8. Conclusion I understand that we set laws in this country to protect people. The issue I have with this is not so much about being able to drink legally, but more about freedom that people should be entitled to. It seems kind of crooked that politicians can use 18 year olds to vote and get them elected, also to fight their wars, but do not have total freedom as an adult in the U.S.
