  1. A Richmond City Jail ProgramTHE EDGAR M. ROLLINS SCHOOL OF LEARNING & DISCOVERY The RCJ School consists of Students & tutors striving to discover, comprehend, learn, and practice basic adult education skills; earn Her or his Commonwealth of Virginia G.E.D. Diploma, Commonwealth of Virginia Career Readiness Certificate, and / or CompTIAA+ Computer Repair Technician Certification; and discover new ways of thinking, speaking, persevering, listening, & believing. The School also shares example – set techniques for Anger Management and The Practice of Non - Violence, Leadership Development, and Basic Computer Skills so as to assist all within the School’s humble sanctuary classroom with their re-entry back into society. Many members of the School are English as a Second Language Students / English Language Learners, souls who are striving to learn how to read and write both Spanish and English. Many School members are also members of the VCU – RCJ School community (and as of 2012, the RCJ – VUU community !), thereby actually taking university courses in the RCJ ! Nearly all the members of the School are also members of the B.E.L.I.E.F. and M.I.R. Brotherhoods and the Ladies’ B.E.L.I.E.F. Sisterhood.

  2. A Richmond City Jail Program THE B.E.L.I.E.F. PROGRAMS for Men and Women The B.E.L.I.E.F. Program is designed to guide residents of G - 2 and H - 2 with a myriad of substance abuse disorders, and to guide Sisters and Brothers in their seeking to change negative social behaviors that have led to their substance abuse and incarceration. The program’s aim is to reduce relapse through social learning skills and cognitive-behavioral interventions such as NA & AA with The 12 Steps, House of Healing, Back to The Basics, From the Inside Out, & R.O.O.T.S. (Reinventing Ourselves Outside the System). The program is supervised by LTC Dabney and by substance abuse & human development counselors Lt. Powell, Ervin Hart, Mrs. Robinson, Mr. Everett, & Cpl. Gass, and by B.E.L.I.E.F. tier service leaders who strive to help all current and former B.E.L.I.E.F. residents maintain their sobriety and their freedom once released.   3. M.I.R. Men In Recovery A Richmond City Jail Program The M.I.R. / Men In Recovery Brotherhood is a spirituality – peace – Earthbound – self examination based program located on G - 3. The program focuses on behavior modification and a myriad of substance abuse problems. The program adheres to relapse prevention literature, NA & AA 12 steps, Anger Management, Fatherhood Skills, Leadership Development, Life Skills, and Life Without A Crutch guidelines and skills teachings. Tier leaders assist Colonel Chief of Chaplains Father Alonzo+ Pruitt and M.I.R. program coordinator Mike Kelly with the recovery of the G - 3 residents by helping residents identify character defects and by helping them become better decision makers and productive citizens.
