  1. THE ART OF MASTERING POST-PANDEMIC EVENTS The main objectives for event organizers in 2020 will be to reorganize temporary events, adhere to strict security policies to protect their guests and participants, and find solutions to contain the spread of the virus. In June, 25% of events were postponed until later, while 66% said they had postponed their events until an indefinite amount of time. However, the second half of the 2020 looks positive: only 1.5% to 2.7% of events have been cancelled. Will we adapt to new ways of marketing and communication, or will the age-old manner of working return to businesses as usual? Will virtual events become the new normal, and will old ways become obsolete? A concerted effort is needed to revitalise the event industry, to start hosting in-person events again, but where do we start? Well, for starters, venues need to focus on key areas to create a safe environment for attendees through the use of contactless solutions. The US government has issued guidelines that divide the return to normality into three phases for the safe organization of events. Most events planned for the second half of 2020 and early 2021 will take place under policies that restrict attendees and use contactless technology. According to an analysis by Ernst & Young (EY), 94% of brands want to explore the sector of digital IP addresses in order to improve the attractiveness and retention of consumers in the new normal. According to the report, 85% of companies have an active interest in developing digital IP, while 90% have identified alliances to help them do the same. Venues will play a key role in restoring the event industry, according to a new World Economic Forum (WEF) report on the future of events. Events and exhibitions have increasingly used new technologies over the years to enhance their events and effectively enrich event experience, but many fear that the only way forward will be to return to the days of roundtables and venues full of participants. Major events can no longer satisfy different needs in the same way. By introducing more advanced security measures and more sophisticated security systems, they can reduce the risk of contracting viruses and add an additional layer of security. Events are tactile and offer possibilities that cannot be replaced by electronic media. For this reason, organisers rely on secure processes in conjunction with contactless solutions such as streaming from the venue and the use of touch screen technology. When events take place, venues are tightly sealed off with protective measures and technology to support safety and hygiene. Post-pandemic events will notice an increase in personalization, and as the quotient continues to increase, this new arrangement will provide real insights to event attendees. The rise of next-gen event apps is also a major trend being witnessed by the event industry.

  2. Nothing can replace a face-to-face encounter, but depending on the objectives of the event, people can think again about how to proceed with their approach. Nowadays, there are various advertising methods that are very consumer-oriented, engaging and dynamic. Several organizers have switched to social media to generate attention, increase traffic and promote their upcoming events to increase audience participation. Introduction of a new type of advertising such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube etc. and various other forms of social networking. While the majority of people are confined to safe, confined spaces, this technology can provide the necessary service to those who want to experience the real business the event offers. For example, participants who cannot register online can set up a self-generated QR code kiosk to generate their own QR codes for tickets, further reducing the spread of the virus. We use this to improve the user experience and create a PDF QR code for each ticket. With a quick scan of the QR code, participants can immerse themselves in the world of AR and organizers can inspire attendees with a gamified experience. We evaluate our audience and create experiences that amaze them and give them a reason to come back. However, be transparent about your privacy policies and invest in secure cybersecurity and backups for a hassle-free experience. Facial recognition tools can also be used in a hybrid event where participants can scoop up the video by jumping to the traditional timestamp portion of the section instead of facing the actual participant. You can use them in hybrid events to add value - an added experience for both participants and their friends and family members. We hope you have safe event experiences, be it in-person or virtual. Do take care! Original Source: https://www.harishgade.com/the-art-of-mastering-post-pandemic-events/
