  2. The Most Popular Herbs To Cure The Most Popular Herbs To Cure Fibroids Naturally Fibroids Naturally The use of herbal remedies to cure various ailments or otherwise promote general health and wellbeing goes back thousands of years and even in this day and age of pharmaceuticals, herbalism continues to grow in popularity because various herbs have been shown to be effective. If you are battling uterine fibroids and are looking for effective fibroids natural treatment methods, you may want to consider herbs. With that in mind, here are some of the most popular herbs to cure fibroids naturally. Herbs for Uterine Fibroids While the exact causes of uterine fibroids remain unknown, there are many factors that can increase your chance of developing these fibroid tumors such as an estrogen dominant state, being overweight, poor diet and other poor lifestyle choices, not giving birth to children, etc. There are many ways to treat bothersome fibroid tumors such as hormone therapy, surgery, various natural methods including herbalism and so on and so forth. Many sufferers usually like to start with natural methods before resorting to surgical procedures which are not only expensive but also come with various side effects.

  3. Herbs as mentioned earlier have been used quite effectively to treat various ailments and/or promote general health and wellbeing. Using the healing properties of various flowers, weeds, roots, berries, leaves, seeds, stems and plants have been shown to heal and prevent various conditions without the side effects and other harmful effects associated with using pharmaceuticals or surgical procedures. There are literally hundreds of herbs than can be beneficial for fibroid treatment. Some of these herbs work by reducing or eliminating some of the symptoms of uterine fibroids such as heavy bleeding due to having certain types of fibroid tumors. Some herbs can actually cure fibroids naturally by helping to shrink the tumors. But the best way to cure fibroids naturally is to prevent them from developing in the first place and there are some herbs that can cleanse your system through the removal of disease causing toxins and promoting hormonal balance so that the uterus becomes an environment that is not conducive for fibroid development. These herbs that are recommended for fibroids are usually administered in the form of teas, capsules or tinctures. Patience and consistency is key when you turn to herbalism to cure fibroids naturally. If you know what you are doing, you can create your own herbal remedies to cure fibroids naturally but otherwise, it may be wise to seek guidance from an experienced herbalist who may create a mixture of herbs to meet your needs and you need to follow all the instructions on usage and monitor your symptoms while on this regimen.

  4. While herbs are less potent than pharmaceuticals and with less side effects, they are still a type of medicine because they contain naturally occurring chemicals that in many cases have not been fully studied which can be harmful or cause allergies so it is important to exercise caution when using herbs. While herbs may be effective for fibroid natural treatment, they are not as potent as pharmaceuticals and it may take several weeks or months of consistent use before you are able to see any results. While it may be tempting to experiment with various herbs including the ones discussed in this article later on, most people lack the knowledge on the impact that the herbs that they decide on will have on their fibroids, what to take, how much to take for effectiveness, when or if to stop, etc, and may become frustrated when they see no results or at worst create a toxic combination that can cause fibroids to continue to grow or otherwise negatively affect their health and wellbeing. In much the same way as you would not just randomly mix and match pharmaceuticals to treat a condition, you should not seek to do the

  5. same with herbs just because they are natural and therefore assumed to be safe. Poison ivy is natural too as well as so many other plants and herbs. With that being said, here are some of the herbs that are usually recommended to treat fibroids and in a few cases may actually cure fibroids naturally by causing the tumors to shrink. 1. Herbs to Reduce Symptoms such as Heavy Bleeding The location of certain fibroids may lead to increased blood flow during the menstrual cycle and some of the herbs that are usually recommended to reduce heavy bleeding associated with fibroid tumors include but are not limited to; a. Chaste Tree (also known as vitex, wild pepper or monk's pepper) Research has shown that the chaste tree can promote hormone balance. While the cause of fibroids is still unknown, many doctors believe that the development of fibroid tumors results from an estrogen dominant state which feeds fibroids. Maintaining hormonal balance is thought to help prevent and eliminate uterine fibroids and chaste tree is thought to help reduce estrogen levels while increasing the levels of progesterone which is another hormone in order to create a state of balance. The hormonal balance provided by chaste tree is why it is also recommended for premenstrual syndrome (PMS), breast pain that is related to the menstrual cycle and can also help reduce heavy bleeding that is caused by uterine fibroids. It also helps prevent spotting between periods.

  6. While chaste tree is usually recommended for the treatment of heavy bleeding, it is important to be cautious with this herb since it may in some cases actually cause fibroids to grow. It can also render birth control to be ineffective and is not recommended for pregnant women. b. Cramp Bark This herb helps to regulate and relax the uterus and ovaries which helps to ease cramps as well as pains in the uterus. The properties of cramp bark also help to reduce and regulate the blood loss during heavy menstrual cycles including heavy bleeding resulting from the presence of uterine fibroids. c. Red Raspberry This is a great herb to help promote gynecological health because it helps to tone and strengthen the uterus. While it can help with many feminine issues, it can also help to reduce heavy blood loss during the menstrual cycle. There are also many other herbs that can help reduce heavy bleeding caused by fibroids such as cinnamon, lady's mantle, shepherd's purse, yarrow, wild yam, etc. 2. Herbs to Shrink Fibroids Some of the common herbs to cure fibroids naturally by shrinking these tumors include but are not limited to; a. Echinacea (pronounced eki-nay-sha)

  7. This very beneficial herb is good for treating various issues including many gynecological problems such as fibroid tumors. This North American wild flower which looks like a daisy is a known immune system booster which helps to improve general health and wellbeing in addition to helping the body eliminate disease causing toxins. Research has also shown that the healing properties of Echinacea can help cure fibroids naturally by shrinking the tumors and helping to rid the body of the dissolving matter from these dying tumors. b. Garlic This is not called nature's penicillin for nothing. While it can help with various health issues without the side effects of antibiotics, it can also help promote gynecological health by detoxifying, regulating blood pressure, improving circulation, etc. Garlic is one of the best natural cures for fibroids because it helps stop fibroid growth by preventing fibroids from having access to a robust

  8. blood supply and nutrients. These tumors will then shrink the longer that they are without what they need to grow. c. Yarrow Another great herb to shrink fibroids naturally is yarrow. Its anti- spasmodics help to relax the smooth muscles of various organs in the body including the uterus which can also help to treat menstrual cramps and control heavy bleeding as well as shrink tumors. 3. Herbs to Prevent Fibroids As mentioned previously, the best way to cure fibroids naturally is to prevent them from occurring in the first place as they can affect up to 70 percent of women whether they produce symptoms of uterine fibroids or not. Prevention is achieved through hormonal balance and ensuring that an estrogen dominant state does not occur in the body. By also eliminating disease causing toxins from the body including those in the pelvic region as well as boosting the immune system in order to help it effectively eliminate buildup of waste caused by various factors including fibroids, these tumors can be preventing from developing in the first place. The herbs that can perform these functions and so much more are usually the safest and can be taken on a long term basis. Many of these herbs have already been discussed above such as Echinacea and garlic. Other herbs to strengthen and tone the various organs and cleanse the

  9. system include borage, black cohosh (not blue cohosh), dong quai, evening primrose, ginger, red clover, etc. Click here to see this now Click here to see this now

  10. The 411 On Treatment For Fibroids Options Available To You Fibroids are the most common tumor that affect women and about 99 percent of them are benign (non cancerous). Although uterine fibroids are so common, the good thing is that most of them usually pose no problems for the women that have them. For other women, dealing with the various symptoms of uterine fibroids can be a challenge. They may suffer from pain, pelvic pressure, heavy bleeding, infertility, pregnancy complications, constipation, etc. For women with these tumors, here are the different options available to you when considering treatment for fibroids. Treatment for Fibroids 1. Ignore the fibroid tumors Many women choose this option with varying degrees of success. Choosing this option to ignore fibroids and any symptoms is a fearful approach which is not the healthiest approach to have. Hoping that they go away is not the best way to go. They may go away but they may also become much worse. 2. Watch and wait Although you are not treating the fibroid tumors, you are also not ignoring them either with this approach. As most uterine fibroids do not cause any problems, this may be the approach that your gynecologist recommends which is fine.

  11. With this approach, your gynecologist will monitor the tumors up to four times annually. This option also requires that you do your own monitoring by keeping good records of your symptoms (if any) and noting any changes you notice. You also need to monitor your menstrual cycles and record any changes you notice as well as any lifestyle changes that may impact your symptoms (if any). Keeping a diary or journal can actually be beneficial and eye opening for you. 3. Drug therapy Conventional treatment for fibroids can start with drug therapy. This can either be done alone or with surgery. This can start as simply as using pain medication available over the counter to relieve some of the pain from fibroid tumors. Drug therapy also commonly involves the use of birth control pills in order to control hormones and prevent fibroids from increasing in size as well as to help with other symptoms of fibroids such as heavy bleeding, cramps, etc. Using birth control pills (low estrogen pills) may work but there is also the chance that the pills may cause the tumors to grow larger. The other aspect of drug therapy is the use of hormone therapy to treat uterine fibroids. These are drugs that are used to prevent an estrogen dominant state from existing in your body. While the causes of fibroid tumors remain unknown, it is thought that estrogen as well as the activity of other hormones such as progesterone may play an important role in fibroid growth. Hormone therapy using drugs that suppress estrogen or progesterone growth try to create an environment that mimics menopause which is characterized

  12. by low levels of hormones especially estrogen and progesterone. Fibroids are believed to shrink or die during menopause so this is what hormone therapy seeks to do. Hormone therapy is usually administered through an injection over a period of 1 to 3 months. While the fibroids may shrink during the treatment period and other fibroids related symptoms may lessen such as heavy bleeding, once the treatment stops, estrogen and progesterone will return to normal levels and with that so will the fibroid tumors as well as the various symptoms of uterine fibroids you had been dealing with prior to the treatment. This therapy is usually recommended if fibroids are affecting fertility and the small window of opportunity provided by hormone therapy may increase chances of conception.

  13. However, since fibroids and symptoms tend to be worsened by the increased hormone activity during pregnancy, choosing hormone therapy in order to increase fertility many not be wise. This is due to some fibroids having the ability to increase greatly in size during pregnancy and causing pregnancy complications as well as increasing the risk of miscarriage. 4. Surgical treatment There are various types of surgical procedures available as a treatment for fibroids and many more are being researched and developed every day. The most common surgical procedures for fibroids include; a. Myomectomy which seeks to remove fibroid tumors while leaving the uterus intact. If you wish to conceive and fibroids are interfering, an abdominal myomectomy may be the answer for you as the fibroids are removed including those impacting fertility while leaving the uterus intact to allow you to get pregnant. There are other types of myomectomies that can be performed besides the abdominal myomectomy such as the hysteroscopic resection (vaginal) or the laparoscopic myomectomy. Since these do not restore the uterus as close as possible to the original as the abdominal myomectomy does, they are usually not recommended for those who wish to get pregnant after the surgery. Since the uterus remains intact after a myomectomy, there is always a chance that the fibroids will return in the future. b. Hysterectomy which is the most common surgical procedure performed in women with fibroids being the most common reason for a hysterectomy each year.

  14. The total hysterectomy removes the uterus along with the cervix while leaving your ovaries and fallopian tubes intact. Without a uterus, fibroids cannot grow so this is a more permanent solution for fibroids than a myomectomy. On the other hand, without a uterus, there will be no chance of pregnancy after the surgery and in some cases, a hysterectomy may trigger early menopause in addition to many other side effects. The other types of hysterectomy include the total abdominal hysterectomy (uterus, cervix, ovaries and fallopian tubes are all removed) and well as the supracervical hysterectomy which removes only the top part of the uterus while the cervix, ovaries and fallopian tubes remain intact. 5. Image guided therapy With this treatment for fibroids option, probes and pictures are used to help shrink fibroids or cause them to disintegrate without actually removing them.

  15. The most common type of image guided therapy is the uterine artery embolization (UAE) which is also known as uterine fibroid embolization (UFE). With the UAE, x-rays are used to get the image of the fibroids and then a probe is inserted into the thigh to get at the main blood supply of the fibroids to cut off or reduce this blood supply to the tumors by depositing small round particles (microspheres) into the uterine artery. Fibroids are believed to thrive when there is a robust blood supply so by cutting off or reducing this blood supply, the tumors will usually shrink or die. This is an outpatient procedure and is not performed by a gynecologist. Therefore, when talking about treatment options with your gynecologist, he or she may not mention this treatment option. If so, you need to bring it up. Other image guided therapies include the myolysis (uses heat to kill the fibroid tumors as well as blood supply using probes inserted into the abdomen) and the cryomyolysis which uses extreme cold to do the same. Since these various therapies keep the uterus intact, there is always a chance of the future return of fibroid tumors. 6. Alternative therapies More and more women with fibroids are turning to alternative treatment for fibroids methods as many of them not only treat the symptoms but may also provide a more permanent solution for the problem of fibroids. In fact, before considering surgery, it is important to try other treatment methods first including alternative therapy as you may find that these work better without the potential risks and side effects of surgery. Many of them are

  16. even able to cure fibroids permanently unlike most conventional treatment methods. The various alternative treatment methods include; Making important diet and lifestyle changes Acupuncture Herbalism (Chinese or Western) Ayurveda Homeopathy, etc Click here to see this now Click here to see this now

  17. Finding Effective Natural or Holistic Cures for Fibroids many womenAre you tired of the discomfort or pain resulting from fibroids and the traditional treatment options which may or may not include a hysterectomy, that no longer offer the solutions that you seek? If so, discover information on fibroids causes and symptoms as well as finding effective natural or holistic cures for fibroids. What are Uterine Fibroids? Fibroids are identified as tumors that can develop on or in the wall of the uterus. They are the most common benign tumor found in the uterus. Benign means that the tumor(s) are not cancerous. Uterine fibroids can vary in size from very small to very large. They can represent a single tumor or can be multiple tumors in the uterus. These tumors can also be hard to the touch or soft. What Causes Uterine Fibroids Although the exact cause is unknown, women with a family history of fibroids are usually at greater risk of developing fibroids themselves. The influence of hormones (especially estrogen) can lead to the development and growth of fibroids. During pregnancy, these tumors may increase in size significantly while a menopausal woman may experience a decrease in the size of fibroids.

  18. Prevalence of Uterine Fibroids Fibroids represent the most common tumor that is gynecological in nature. The amount of women of child bearing age that have fibroids is at a rate of 20 to 25%. Some studies show that the incidence of fibroids in all women can be as high as 75%. The vast majority of these tumors are benign with only a few (less than 1%) leading to cancer. Although the exact cause as mentioned previously is unknown, besides women with a family history of fibroids being at greater risk, studies have also shown that black women develop fibroids at a rate of four to six times more that women of other races. Symptoms of Uterine Fibroids Some of the symptoms associated with fibroids include but are not limited to; a. Discomfort or pain in the pelvic region b. An increased menstrual cycle (soaking though two to three pads or tampons in an hour) c. Blood clots d. Having painful or irregular menstrual periods

  19. e. An increased level of menstrual cramps f. Increased need to urinate (the fibroids may press on the bladder) g. Bloating and increased girth h. Suffering from constipation (the fibroids may press on the rectum) Fibroids may lead to infertility in a few cases as well as complications during pregnancy for a few pregnant women. How are Uterine Fibroids Diagnosed? Fibroids are more frequently than not, identified during a normal pelvic exam. An ultrasound may also be used to identify the fibroids as well as to confirm that they are indeed fibroids and not ovarian cysts which are fluid filled sacs found on or in the ovaries. A CT scan may also be used to identify fibroids to a lesser extent. Treatment of Uterine Fibroids 1. Traditional Medicine After identifying fibroids, your personal physician usually will decide to simply monitor the fibroids to see whether there is any change by performing an annual ultrasound. For the larger or worrisome fibroids, surgery is the next option that your doctor will suggest. A myomectomy is performed to remove superficial tumors leaving the uterus intact. More serious tumors are surgically removed by performing a hysterectomy which also removes the uterus in addition to the fibroids - no uterus, no

  20. fibroids. A hysterectomy should always be the last resort after trying other treatments for fibroids. Other surgical methods including clotting which starves the fibroids of blood which the tumors need to grow. This starvation of the blood supply leads to the shrinkage of the fibroids. With a myomectomy or other surgical procedures (besides a hysterectomy), recurrence of the fibroids is at a rate of 12 to 64% since they do not treat the root cause of the fibroids. 2. Natural or Holistic Treatments Unlike traditional treatments for fibroids, natural treatments for these tumors seek to treat the root cause of fibroids to prevent recurrence and provide a holistic approach which is always the best option for the treatment and cure of uterine fibroids. Natural remedies for the treatment of fibroids do not come with the side effects associated with traditional medicine. Surgery is always risky even when your uterus is left intact and comes with side effects in addition to being expensive. Holistic remedies are inexpensive while still being effective at treating fibroids and have been shown to provide excellent results for many women suffering from fibroids.
