Need for Information • These days, everywhere is dominated by the information. • The years after 1970s is called as “Information Age” • We (as students and instructors) all need for information at different times for different purposes (like assignments, research papers, articles) • Question is where to find the correct information ?

History of Computers The development of the modern day computer was the result of advances in technologies and man's need to quantify. Papyrus helped early man to record language and numbers. The abacus was one of the first counting machines. . Some of the earlier mechanical counting machines lacked the technology to make the design work. It is emphasized that the basic principle that started the idea of computers is counting. The first counting device is known as abacus. Early counting machines were mechanical and do not have any technology. Even wood were used in the old abacus before metal part usage. APA Basics • Title Page • Running head: top-left justified, appreviated title in capital case and maximum 50 characters • Title is centered and half way down • Your name and institutional affiliation appears below title, it is centered. • Page number and header is included • Paragraph spacing is double (2)

APA Basics • Body • Font Face: Times New Roman • Font Size: 12 • Paragraph Spacing: Double space • Margins: 1 inch (2,5 cm) from right, left, top, and bottom • Page numbers: number all pages on the upper right edge • Page headers: first two or three words from the title in upper right hand corner • First heading is centered, second heading is left aligned and italic and third heading is left aligned and italic but the text is at the same line with the heading.
