Rail trail Facts The towns that you ride through or near are Clyde, Alexandra, Chatto Creek, Omaku, Lauder, Auripo, Otureua, Rainfurly, Waipaita, Kokonga, Tiroiti, Rock and Pillar, Ngapunaand Middlemarch. You can ride on the rail trail all year round. You can bike run or walk on the rail trail. The rail trail is rated easy by people that have rode on it. It’s good for kids and adults. There are hills and bridges on the rail trail. There are no places to stop and have a drink but there are hotels ,motels ,restraunts and cafe's. There are environmental toilets on the rail trail you have to bring your own toilet paper.

  3. There are 5 major summits It is a huge tourist attraction. Some times in summer it can get to 40degress and drop to the early teens in a few hours. There are 13 tunnels on the Rail Trail There are sheds on the rail trail in case the weather changes to rain or strong winds. It doesn't matter if you start at Middlemarch or Clyde. There are 97 bridges on the rail trail It doesn’t cost to go on the rail trail its free all year round. Winds can be stronger in summer than any other time in the year. You don’t have to be fit to be able to go on the rail trail. The rail trail is not really set up for camping and in summer if you were to camp there it would be a total fire band.
