Children’s Services • Plans for the system of child care services (approximately 140 sites) through contracts and directly operated services across Niagara’s 12 municipalities • Provides financial support for child care for families who qualify for fee subsidy • Ensures children with special needs are supported in child care placements • Provides supports to parents, caregivers and early childhood educations through resource centres • Administers and manages wage subsidy/pay equity, health and safety for child care system

Social Assistance & Employment Opportunities (SAEO) • Five municipally located offices providing Ontario Works to the residents of Niagara Niagara Falls Welland St. Catharines Fort Erie Port Colborne • Provides: Temporary financial assistance Help finding and keeping a job Help to young parents to finish school and develop good parenting skills Help to pursue child/spousal support payments Self-employment development

Hostels and Homelessness Hostels Partner with seven committee agencies through service contracts for eight shelters: 2 Refugee 1 Multi-use 1 Men’s 2 Women’s/Children 2 Youth Homelessness Consolidated Homelessness Prevention Program Agencies Supportive Housing – Canal View Homes Housing Supports – Project Share Housing Supports and Homelessness Outreach - Community Care of St. Catharines and Thorold
