  2. The Human’s Teeth

  3. What is Tooth Decay and Cavity? • The terms tooth decay and cavities all mean the same thing. The most frequently used of these is probably just the word "cavity. Its pretty obvious that it means a “hole”. The same can be said for the term "tooth decay,”. • Tooth decay is a disease process where acidic food formed by bacteria cause damage to the hard (mineralized) tissues of the tooth.

  4. Causes & Risks of the Tooth Decay • They are usually painless, but they can grow very large, and damage the soft structures of the tooth like the dentin and the pulp, which is found at the core of the teeth. • If they remain untreated, they can kill the nerve and blood vessels of the tooth, and ultimately the tooth itself. • Eating a diet rich in sugar increases the risk of tooth decay, and the foods that are sticky are a big problem since the are more likely to remain on the tooth.

  5. That’s what happens when you have cavities in your tooth

  6. Facts About Human’s Teeth • A human baby has 20 baby or milk teeth. These start to develop at about 6 months old and last until you are about 5 - 6 years old. • An human adult has 32 teeth called permanent teeth. These start to grow when you are about 5 -6 years old. They replace your milk teeth. •     Humans have THREE kinds of teeth, each carries out a different function. They are INCISORS, MOLARS & CANINES.

  7. You only have two sets of teeth in your life - take great care of them.

  8. Why do we need Teeth? • Teeth are extremely useful. They help you to tear, cut and break up your food into very small pieces so you can swallow it more easily. • Digestion starts in your mouth with your teeth.
