  3. Tetons and Yellowstone Itinerary Our route takes through the heart of the Rockies. Our journey takes us behind the scenes at Old Faithful in Yellowstone, and on wildlife safaris with experts in Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. We raft the wild and beautiful Snake River, canoe on a high mountain lake, camp out in Yellowstone, and take to mountain trails on horseback to explore Grand Teton National Park.

What happens when? • Groups form/students enroll August through January • All Adventures usually full by late January Teacher conducts preparation sessions in late winter through the spring • Usually 3-4 two hour get-togethers • Student receives the Naturalist newsletter quarterly, and program Adventure Guide

  12. What happens when? • Travel Packet arrives in May • Detailed day to day itinerary customized for each group • Official program cap, field journal, photo credentials, luggage tags, and T-shirt • Quarterly program newsletters and Adventure Guide provide packing lists and credit information

Earth Explore AdventuresStudent application process • Applications accepted until local group is full, then waitlist is begun • If student is not known to teacher, interview is required • Students can invite friends or siblings, subject to space available and interview • Application requires deposit of $400

Earth Explore AdventuresStudent application process - continued • Limited number of spaces for each Adventure each season • Space is allotted on a first come, first served basis • Application can be mailed, faxed, or submitted online - most now apply online • Lead teacher will have materials or they can be requested from the National Office, or downloaded online

Tetons and Yellowstone AdventureWhat’s Included - What’s Not Included Not Included • All program activities/instruction • All meals (3 per day) • All accommodations • 2 Travel Manager/Naturalist Guides per group • On site resource experts • Chaperoning by students’ own teachers • Program accident insurance • Travel items including cap, t-shirt, journal, luggage tags • Academic credit tuition - HS • Option for college credit • Program airfare - Earth Explore arranges this for the group • Items of a strictly personal nature (for example souvenirs)

Yellowstone and Tetons- Travel Details • Groups are met at Jackson Hole airport and stay on campus of the Teton Science School in Jackson • Groups are accompanied at all times by 1-2 naturalist guides and travel managers • Two days of camping (all equipment provided) in spectacular setting in Yellowstone National Park • Students wear program credentials during official activities, and when directed by Leaders
