BSN Program: Admission Requirements
Merit-based admissions – Based on points
Test of Essential Academic Skills (75% Minimum Score)
Pre/Corequisite GPA – C or better in each class. Overall GPA of 3.3 for last 30 units including pre/corequisites.
Optional Criteria for BSN Admission
Additional points (up to 12) awarded for:
Bilingual Language Proficiency (3 points)
Health-Related Work Experience (3 points)
Economic Background (3 points)
Environment Background (3 points)
A prerequisite or corequisite class may be taken twice within a 7 year period preceding the first day of the program application filing period without penalty.

Microbiology. 2.5 overall GPA for all others.
Same course requirements as BSN program.
No repeating courses.

BSN – 2 years at Sac State
3 years at some State Universities
ADN – 2 years
BSN – Baccalaureate Degree, Public Health Certificate, Advanced degree prepared, More career opportunities, Higher salaries in some areas, May take longer, More expensive, More coursework.
ADN – Associates Degree, Less coursework, Less expensive, May take longer to get into a program.
