What is an energy independent home? • Pretty easy to define (for the most part): • Does your energy come from a sustainable source? • Are you disconnected from the grid? • A few people believe they are “energy independent” yet still rely on propane (or some other fossil fuel). Some people look at these folks and claim they are really not energy independent.

  3. Why is an energy independent home important? • Gives us an answer to the current energy problem.

  4. You can creatively heat, cool, supply your house with electricity, water, and sewer services.* *It may not be as convenient as using conventional means

  5. Energy independent homes can be as simple as a log cabin.
