Day 9, 28 th Dec. As usual, a hearty breakfast before setting off. This time, we were introduced to the exotic Peruvian ground apple. It’s a root, not a fruit. By now, we have learnt to D-I-Y our own blisters. President Cheng Kim Tung and the RC Kulai welcoming party.

  1. Day 9, 28th Dec. As usual, a hearty breakfast before setting off.

  2. This time, we were introduced to the exotic Peruvian ground apple. It’s a root, not a fruit.

  3. By now, we have learnt to D-I-Y our own blisters.

  4. President Cheng Kim Tung and the RC Kulai welcoming party.

  5. We literally walked into a tremendous reception from our Rotarian friends.

  6. A jolly good show!

  7. Lunch treat by RC Kulai. For once Robin allowed us to order what we liked.

  8. Wei Lien’s very grateful for that. Pic deliberately fuzzed it can’t be seen what he’s eating.

  9. Members of our host club, family members and friends.

  10. Another treat to dinner. Our hosts paid our hotel bill too. Thanks a million, RC Kulai.

  11. Day 10, 4am, 29th Dec. RC Kulai Rotarians who will walk with us from Kulai to JB.

  12. Welcome at Good Hope Hotel, Scudai led by DGN Lee Kong Hwee & President Dr Siva.

  13. RC Johor Bahru provided 80 T-shirts. There weren’t enough to go round!

  14. The crowd was bigger than we had expected.

  15. Among them were PDG John Cheah, PDG Dr Ivor, DGN Kong Hwee and spouse Nana.

  16. Off we go, onward to Jaybee!

  17. A group of happy core walkers.

  18. We certainly caught a lot of attention all along the way.

  19. Police escorted the walkers all the way to JB.

  20. Wei Lien still going strong.

  21. RC Pontian brought along their dialysis van.

  22. As did RC Kulai.

  23. These girls seem to get stronger with each passing day!

  24. Regrouping just ahead of our destination.

  25. We have come a long way but we can still rock some more!

  28. 2 tents were put up for the press conference, food and refreshments.

  29. At last, we’re here. 10 down, only one more to go in Singapore.

  32. The Deputy Minister of Education and GOH Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong contributed 1 PHF.

  33. At the dinner hosted by RC Johor Bahru, Rotaractors spoke about their experiences.

  34. Day 11, Final Day. A quick dressing before the transfer from Selesa Hotel to Singapore.

  35. DG Dr Abraham and the Crazy Gang assembled at Woodlands Centre.

  36. The group who will start the 23km home stretch. Who will finish and who won’t?

  37. 3+1 Musketeers.

  40. Taxi anyone? Mmmmm ….tempting.

  41. Nice day for a walk. Amazing it never rained while we walked in all the 11 days. In Dec!

  42. 99.9% there!

  43. THAT’S IT, DONE!! There was never a doubt that we would finish, really….
