  3. Know Your Audience • What is their level of knowledge? • What is their interest in the topic? • Are there any VIPs? • Are you going to get “nasty” questions?

  4. Know Your Material • What is the organization of your talk • Overview • Body • Conclusion • How much information can you provide • Time limits • Audience • Can you answer their questions?

  5. Practice Your Talk • To know what you are going to say • To know how long it will take • To become comfortable with the talk • If you can practice it in front of others • You should practice it at least 3 times

  6. The Delivery • Concentrate on the audience • Do not fixate on a V.I.P. • Give audience a few seconds to scan slide • Write clear slides

  7. Things NOT to do • Read your slide. The audience can read the slide faster than you can read it aloud. Its insulting. • Face the slides while talking • Have hard to read slides • Have confusing graphics Colors that clash
