Passive Voice. NOTE!!!. WHEN AN ACTIVE VERB HAS TWO OBJECTS WE CAN FORM A PASSIVE SENTENCE IN TWO DIFFERENT WAYS. VERB – PREPOSITION COMBINATION. Transitive/Intransitive Verbs We cannot express something in passive voice unless the Verb is transitive, that takes an object.

  3. ERGATIVE VERBS These verbs can be used in both transitive and intransitive way. The object of transitive verb becomes subject of Intransitive verb.
