National coordination of market surveillance • Includes the following tasks: • To hold the secretariat and chairmanship of the National Market Surveillance Council (meetings, action plan, workinggroups, report to the government, administration of internal and external national website) • To support the market surveillanceauthorities in their implementation and adoption of Regulation 765/2008 • To represent Sweden in workinggroupsregarding market surveillance on a European and an International level (SOGS-MSG, PROSAFE, UNECE/UNECE MARS) • To administrate ICSMS

Action Plan on Market Surveillance for 2012 • Clarify responsibilities for different productcategoriesand draw attention to possiblecoordination- or cross border problems • Follow up, evaulate and ifneeded - develop the existing guidelines on publication of information on dangerous products • Exchange ideas and experience on products sold on the Internet • Examinethe possibility to use social media to inform the public on dangerous products • Developthe existing cooperationmodel between the market surveillanceauthoritiesand customs • Follow up a study on CE-marking from 2004 • Plan ”Product safetyseminar 2013”

ICSMS as a system under Art. 23 of (EC) Regulation 765/2008 Article 23 The Commission shalldevelop and maintain a general archiving and exchange of information system MS shallprovidewith information at theirdisposal on: • Type of risk • Results of testing • Restrictivemeasures taken • Contact with economic operators • Justification for action or inaction

Our role as a national administrator of ICSMS • Inform the MSAs to use the system and do it correctly • Collect feedback from users on improvements • Register new members • Translation • Guidance and consultation (user name) • Regular contact with the operator of the system • Overview of the most important activities in the system (updates with new entries, changes to PI, products involving SE MSAs) • Attend the ICSMS board meetings twice a year • Attend the coming meetings between EU COM and MS contact points of ICSMS (17 October)

Upcoming activities • Market surveillance Council meets 21st September and 23rd November • Our forum for customs related issues meets 3-4 October • Study on CE marking • Visit from Estonia and Moldova in October • Plan a Product safety seminar • A new national Regulation on Market Surveillance is under consideration
